Itinerary
Day 1 (4/11) - Depart US
Day 2 (4/12) - Lost to international dateline
Day 3 (4/13) - Check into hotel. Evening free for you to rest or see Kathmandu.
Day 4 (4/14) - Explore Kathmandu which has 7 UNESCO world heritage sites
Day 5 (4/15) - 1st day of trekking: Fly to Lukla and hike to Phakding
Day 6 (4/16) - 2nd day of trekking: Trek to Namche Bazaar, about 5.5 hours
Day 7 (4/17) – 3rd day of trekking: Acclimatizing and enjoying the village of Namche Bazaar
Day 8 - 13 (4/18 - 4/23) – days 4-9 of trekking: Trek to serene Khumbu villages over spectacular mountain passes with humbling views of glaciers and the world famous Himalayan peaks including Mount Everest, the highest in the world. This itinerary includes the magnificent region of Gokyo Ri
Day 14 (4/24) – 10th day of trekking: Lobuche. Trekkers can choose to relax in Lobuche, do a non-technical climb of Kala Pathar or spread their wings for a technical day-climb of Lobuche East. All return to Dole for the night.
Day 15 (4/25) – 11th day of trekking: Trek to Tengboche Monastery
Day 16 (4/26) – 12th day of trekking: Return to Namche
Day 17 (4/27) – 13th day of trekking: Trek to Sengma, the home village of our guides where
Day 18 (4/28) – 14th day of trekking (not trekking) Relax in the village of Sengma. A unique offering that is exclusive to YSG as our partner is the accomplished mountaineer Pemba Sherpa who lives now in Boulder, Colorado.
We are invited to spend the day engaged in the daily activities of a small Sherpa village, experiencing their customs and appreciating the environment or just take your boots off and spend the day relaxing however you'd like.
Day 19 (4/29) – 15th day of trekking: Trek to Lukla and spend the evening in this enchanting village
Day 20 (4/30) – Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu
Day 21 (5/1) – Kathmandu
Day 22 (5/2) – Fly back to the US
** Specific itinerary is approximate as guides will move the group based on acclimatization
**Guides provide potable water throughout expedition.
**3 meals a day are provided along the trek but if you would like something specific please feel free to bring your own hiking food.
